I started my journey with Rachel on the 18th June 2012, little did I know at this time it would bring back the old me of 4 years previous.
The program has done so much more for me than just losing weight and inches. It has rebuilt my confidence mentally and physically.
In 2008 – 2009 I was suddenly 2 stone 7 lbs heavier, it felt like it went on overnight, when I look back the reasons for this were stoppingteaching over 20 fitness classes a week, getting married and moving house twice plus finding my feet in a new location and taking over a business. So stress levels had gone sky high, I was still training throughout this time and started to get my eating back on track but the weight wouldn’t come off.
By 2010 I was fed up with myself , my self esteem was low.
Then the business venture spiralled out of control and my husband and I were left with no income! During this time I found out I had an irregular heartbeat which resulted in me been scared to workout. At this point I opened my own Fitness Studio and concentrated on teaching gentle exercise disciplines, Pilates etc. So I entered the Great North Run half marathon, my way of fighting back!! I was STILL Overweight , and the worse was yet to come!
I was constantly looking at my diet but nothing was working.
19th September 2010-The Great North Run and now my Studio is been demolished for house building, STRESS My hormones are in havoc! I wasn’t feeling too good either. So did the GNR , loved it, I am still alive!
3 days later I collapsed and was rushed into hospital. I had had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, my world fell apart. I managed to keep myself positive on the outside and what blew my mind was I had run 13 miles with internal bleeding! I am still alive!!!
Jumping forward to 2011, not the best year, getting over our loss and then losing a family member who was the glue of the family.
I had so many blood tests in 2011 I lost count, but my hormone levels were like an orchestra without a conductor, so I am now convinced that this is why my weight will not change.
2012 was my turning point, I started to lose a few pounds but then got stuck, so introducing Rachel Holmes & Kick Start Fat Loss.
I signed up on the 18th June and it’s the best thing I have ever done solely for me. Looking back now I know I was unable to lose weight through stress and hormone imbalance.
This plan is helping me with all these areas in my life, my heart is still aching from my troubles but as I lose weight & inches my confidence is growing again and life is getting back on track as I feel happier in myself.
KSFL is easy to follow, its clean nutritious food that helps to balance hormones aswell as getting amazing results. I can think and concentrate better,I have heaps of energy.

I’ve been encouraged to take things at my own pace and, through the excellent KSFL social-networking support online, I feel able to assimilate the clean habits into my life for good. Now in the ‘maintenance period’, I’m able to have a bit of dark chocolate here and there, and a handful of drinks on a handful of separate occasions when out, without missing starchy carbs or dairy. I’m enjoying all the food I CAN have, and find it easier when eating loads of the strictly good stuff! There’s more washing up and more planned shopping/cooking in advance, but I really feel gratitude to myself, every time I eat or exercise now. It definitely gets easier and easier. The trick now is keeping aware of my mind and the voice of others, who want to sabotage my vision. Staying on course is remembering it’s a choice, then choosing it again. I’m going to keep clean and carry on.
It takes a little effort but together we can do this! Some of you may be aware in the past I was treated for stage 4 cancer. I received radio and chemotherapy. I blame the genes of my father! It was also a lot to do with my diet and lifestyle too) being young and stupid I continued to smoke, party and eat a very poor diet ! Once my treatment finished I was left with some nasty side effects. I went through the menopause at 25 years of age and was diagnosed with M.E/ CFS. I still continued to smoke and eat rubbish for several years! (ignoring the nagging of my mother to stop ) nothing motivated me to exercise or eat healthily. THEN!!! While eating ice cream in the beach my daughter and I stumbled across one of Helen Tite’s Zumba on the beach classes! A week later I was wiggling (not to time) and stumbling through the steps) that was it I was addicted ? later I was introduced to body balance and soon fell in love with that too. (I still continued to smoke and eat a poor diet) later in the year my hip became a problem and I had an op that hasn’t really worked. Alarm bells started ringing in my head. Yes it took a long time! I decided to give up smoking, I know I would not have done this had it not been for the core and the fitness classes I was enjoying). I started feeling the benefit within a few weeks. My health is still a problem, diet is I’m sure a lot to do with it. That’s where KSFL comes into it! My health may not be perfect as my M.E is a daily battle and it’s easy to make excuses and sit and do nothing. Fibromyalgia is the latest thing to be added to my list! Only one week of being on KSFL and I have got to say I am feeling GREAT!!! (the first few days were really worth the agony). Fitness classes I struggle with due to my tiredness but Helen adapted the exercise so I could take part while seated. Once over my initial embarrassment of sitting in a chair I have got to say I really enjoyed the class). The support of the KSFL group members has been fantastic and the team spirit is amazing. KSFL is not a faddy diet it has given me the kick up the bum I needed to eat unprocessed food and lead a healthier lifestyle. I’ve learnt to cook, made some amazing friends and changed my life and that’s just in week one! Thank you Helen Tite!
